Smart Work: The Momentum Continues, You're Invited to be a Conversation Starter

It would appear that 'smart working' is where I do the marketing work for IBM..

The good news is that we all have a sample signature for an IBM VP, should we ever need to countersign a particularly large bar bill...

Now *that* would be smarter working, in my book...

Dear Lotusphere colleague,

During the annual Lotusphere conference in January, we introduced IBM Smarter Planet and smarter collaboration. We had the opportunity to hear many of your real-life stories, where we heard, repeatedly, that collaboration is the way to transform how businesses work. We agree. IBM thinks that smarter collaboration is the way to achieve smarter organizations, and ultimately transform the way the world works.

Your stories about collaboration were compelling and worth sharing; they were turned into 22 short videos that describe how Lotus solutions address actual business needs by helping people within your extended organizations work smarter together. Each of these can be seen on our new collaboration-focused channel on YouTube, collaboration4you. Views of these smart, engaging stories are already spreading the message about the value of smarter collaboration on social video media sites such as Blip.TV, Vimeo or maybe you've seen them on Twitter, Xing, Linkedin and Facebook.

Help us build additional visibility, tell others how smarter collaboration and smart work, and transforming the collaborative infrastructure and processes, leads to smarter organizations and eventually to a Smarter Planet. Share the videos with your contacts by email, text message, or newsletter; use your blog, Facebook or Twitter account, or any other means to spread the word - - they are made for passing around, so please feel free to do so liberally.

Smart Work momentum continued today at the annual IMPACT conference as well as at Research In Motion's WES conference. IBM made several announcements about Smart Work and smarter collaboration, including unveiling IBM's 9 predictions for Smarter Work in 2009. In conjunction with these announcements, there was a full page placement in the May 4 edition of the Wall Street Journal called Conversations for a Smarter Planet that we invite you to read - more evidence that collaboration is helping all sorts of people and organizations around the world work smarter.

Please share the videos and the Wall Street Journal piece to get the conversation started. Help build a Smarter Planet. To learn more, visit www.ibm.com/think.

Best regards,

Kristen Lauria
